ISSUE: When two or more people attempt to open the same Casedo Casefile on a shared LAN network, Casedo creates multiple copies of the file.
SOLUTION: Casedo will now prevent this happening and inform subsequent users of who currently has the Casefile open.
FIX Issue with moving annotations when individual pages were deleted or rotated
ISSUE: When a page is deleted or rotated, the annotations would move to an unwanted location.
SOLUTION: A fix has been applied to prevent this from happening.
FIX Ctrl+ click (Mac Cmd+click) not working
ISSUE: Ctrl+ click (Mac Cmd+click) not working in Casedo.
SOLUTION: A fix has been applied to prevent this from happening.
FIX Casedo not launching when offline
ISSUE: When the computer upon which Casedo is installed is offline and Casedo is first opened, Casedo starts but the Casefile fails to open.
SOLUTION: A fix has been applied to prevent this from happening.
BUG When undoing movements in the Index and Desk Space, the Casefile Crashes or documents can’t be viewed
ISSUE: Rarely when using CTRL+Z (Mac Cmd+Z) the Casefile crashes or documents can’t be viewed, leading to a loss of work.
SOLUTION: This occasionally happens when Casedo can find no more undo steps to take when the user presses the undo keys. To prevent this, count the undo steps you need to make before pressing the undo keys, and always make sure you have a back up.
BUG When undoing movements in the Index and Desk Space, a previously deleted file is undeleted but is no longer accessible
ISSUE: When using CTRL+Z (Mac Cmd+Z) and a previously deleted file is undeleted, the undeleted file reappears in the Index or Desk Space, but can no longer be accessed.
SOLUTION: We are working on a fix for this issue. In the meantime the deleted file cannot be retrieved and the Index entry of the ‘ghost’ file needs to be deleted.
BUG When a second user accesses a shared Casedo Casefile that is already open, the Casefile Lock feature does not work as expected
ISSUE: When this happens Casedo will either crash, but is more likely to save a duplicate version of the file.
SOLUTION: Whilst this feature has been tested to work on Local Areas Networks, Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive, it is dependent on the way the shared drive systems themselves are set up, as well as local internet speeds. See the note at the bottom of the article HERE for more information.

NEW More colour options
ISSUE: There were five colour options to use within Casedo. SOLUTION: There are now up to seven colours. Colour tagging and highlighting colours now match
NEW Set Pagination Start Page
ISSUE: The first numbered page in Casedo was fixed at ‘1’. SOLUTION: You can now set the pagination to start from whichever number you like.
NEW Improved welcome screen
ISSUE: Some users found Casedo welcome screen unclear. SOLUTION: The welcome screen for the new licenses is now updated and much improved and clearer.
FIX Multi-selected documents change order when moved.
ISSUE: When selected and moved into a folder multi-selected documents change the order in which they had previously been organised. SOLUTION: A fix has been applied to prevent this from happening.
BUG When offline Casefile does not load when Casedo is started [FIXED in v1.9.0]
ISSUE: When the computer upon which Casedo is installed is offline and Casedo is first opened, Casedo starts but the Casefile fails to open. SOLUTION: Make sure Casedo is running before the computer goes offline. For example, if intending to use Casedo on a laptop when travelling, make sure that Casedo is up and running before leaving to travel. The laptop can then be set to sleep mode and Casedo will open offline the next time the computer is woken up.
BUG Extra printing marks appear to the right of the Table of Contents (Windows only)
ISSUE: Very rarely when printing an exported Casefile with a Table of Contents, extra marks appear to the left of the Table of Contents. SOLUTION: This issue ONLY occurs when printing from an exported PDF in Windows using Adobe Acrobat. To avoid this either use a Mac or another PDF reader in Windows (such as Fox It, or printing directly from a browser such as Google Chrome).

NEW Email import function
ISSUE: You could only import PDF and Word documents into Casedo. SOLUTION: You can now also import .eml and .msg emails into Casedo. In doing so, any pdf and docx attachments will also be imported in their own folder. .eml and .msg attachments will be imported recursively. N.B. This feature is quite new and you might experience some issues such as your emails might not be properly imported.
NEW Colour tagging
ISSUE: You could not colour code anything located in your index and deskspace. SOLUTION: You can now categorise your files, documents and bookmarks that are located in the Index and Deskspace into a variety of colours.
NEW Improved Speed
ISSUE: Casedo performed slowly when importing files into your bundle. SOLUTION: It is now much faster to import files into Casedo.
NEW Import multiple files in alphabetical order
ISSUE: Import multiple files into Casedo and they appear in any order SOLUTION: Files imported together in batches now appear in alphabetical order.
FIX Saving bookmarks no longer work as intended.
ISSUE: Sometimes it takes two mouse clicks to save a bookmark.. SOLUTION: A fix has been applied to prevent this from happening.
BUG When exporting Casefiles to PDF, certain characters and accents are mis-transcribed in exported bookmarks
ISSUE: Casedo, on exporting a PDF, exports accents and certain other characters incorrectly. SOLUTION: As a workaround, avoid using accents on export, then add them manually in a pdf reader.
BUG Nested emails and attachments sometimes crash Casedo
ISSUE: Nested emails such as emails within emails and their attachments sometimes crash Casedo. SOLUTION: If possible import individual emails with attachments.
BUG Multi-selected documents change order when moved [FIXED in v1.8.0]
ISSUE: When selected and moved into a folder multi-selected documents change the order in which they had previously been organised. SOLUTION: If this error persists, select and move one document at a time.

NEW Multi-select function
ISSUE: One document could be selected at a time. SOLUTION: You can now select multiple documents and control them. Instead of having to individually delete or move around your files you can now select multiple documents and either delete them, or move them around in your Index and Desk Space.
NEW Delete individual pages
ISSUE: To delete individual pages, merge and split functions had to be used to complete this single action. SOLUTION: You can now delete individual pages with a single click.
NEW Rotating your pages/documents
ISSUE: You could not rotate your pages within Casedo. SOLUTION: You can now rotate clockwise or anti-clockwise selected pages, or documents as a whole.
FIX Certain layered PDFs would not split.
ISSUE: Certain layered PDFs would not split/have the splitting option. SOLUTION: A fix has been applied to prevent this from happening.
FIX Failed imports where the case had an open link
ISSUE: Sometimes when an import would fail if the file has an open link. SOLUTION: A fix has been applied to prevent this from happening.
BUG Saving Bookmarks no longer works as intended [FIXED in v1.7.0]
ISSUE: Sometimes it takes two mouse clicks to save a bookmark. SOLUTION: Whilst this will be fixed in the next release of Casedo, it should be noted that this bug only happens when a document/folder is selected in the Index and then a bookmark is added. It does not happen if nothing is selected in the Index, or if a bookmark is. TIP: If workflow includes a lot of bookmarking make sure to unselect all docs and folders in the Index before proceeding to use the Bookmark feature.
BUG Formatting error when Importing Word documents
ISSUE: Importing Word documents with open track changes can cause formatting errors on import. SOLUTION: Accept all changes in Word before importing it.
BUG Deleting pages causes bookmarks to move [FIXED in v1.9.0]
ISSUE: Sometimes deleting individual pages in Casedo moves some bookmarks to preceding pages. SOLUTION: This is very occasional, and we are working on a fix. Back up your Casefile before deleting any single pages.

NEW User application data
ISSUE: It was difficult to reset data and the user was sometimes unable to enter their license key. SOLUTION: You can now reset your data from within Casedo. Instead of having to individually delete user data files to reset the application, it can now be deleted via the help menu and/or emailed directly to the Casedo team.

BUG Application fails to open on virtual servers
ISSUE: Application opens as a blank screen or is otherwise not function. SOLUTION: Downgrade to Casedo v1.4.2 until a fix is in place (Download Mac v1.4.2, Download PC v1.4.2).

NEW Enhanced Table of Contents
ISSUE: Could not customise the table of contents SOLUTION: You can now select to include in the table of contents any or all of bookmarks, comments, highlights and subfolders. All entries are automatically be linked to the pages they reference. They are also be more responsive, allowing you to use the new features selectively and create multiple, custom lists of materials within specific folders.
NEW Import password protected PDF’s
ISSUE: Could not import password protected PDF’s SOLUTION: You can now import password protected PDF’s and open them in Casedo.
BUG Highlights and bookmarks on the same page are not shown in the correct order in an enhanced Table of Contents
ISSUE: When using the new enhanced Table of Contents feature, if highlights and bookmarks are selected to be shown, they appear in the wrong order if they appear on the same page in a document, bookmarks are always shown above highlights.
BUG Casedo does not recognise passwords on some imported protected PDF’s
ISSUE: Casedo does not allow import of some password protected PDF’s even when the correct password is imported. SOLUTION: Open the protected PDF in another application and select ‘print to pdf’, this second pdf can then be imported into Casedo.
FIX Import of case file leads to no highlighting
ISSUE: Importing a new case file into an existing case file occasionally results in the highlighting feature no longer working. SOLUTION: A fix has been applied to prevent this from happening.

ISSUE: Documents changing order in the project index when they’re split. SOLUTION: Multiple fixes have been applied to prevent this from happening.
UPDATE Limited hovering time to expand folders
ISSUE: Folders expanded quickly when dragged into a document. SOLUTION: Hovering time required to do this has been increased to 1 second.
FIX [macOS Only] Closing the Casedo window does not close off the application
ISSUE: Closing the ‘whole application’ was necessary to kill the entire application. SOLUTION: A fix has been applied to prevent this from happening.

BUG Two-way links occasionally disappear [FIXED in v1.3.0]
ISSUE: Sometimes some links that have been added to a Casefile disappear. In fact, the links are still in place, but they are no longer visible. SOLUTION: Close the Document View window and re-open it this should refresh the links back onto the Casefile as before. If the problem persists, restart Casedo.
BUG Split page re-ordering [FIXED in v1.2.0]
ISSUE: Splitting a document results in the new lower split document being relocated to a different segment of the Casefile and not immediately beneath document the original document as intended. SOLUTION: Unfortunately the only current solution is to manually drag the document in question back to its intended position.
BUG Close window leads to request for licence key (Mac Only) [FIXED in v1.2.0]
ISSUE: On Mac, choosing to ‘Close window’ from the File Menu results in Casedo requesting the license key. CURRENT SOLUTION: Whilst rare, this issue can be avoided by closing Casedo by other means (quit the application using the file menu or opening a new or existing bundle from the file menu)
BUG Import of case file leads to no highlighting [FIXED in v1.4.2]
ISSUE: Importing a new case file into an existing case file occasionally results in the highlighting feature no longer working. SOLUTION: Currently this bug cannot be rectified, a new attempt to import into an unaffected copy of the Casefile should be tried. To mitigate against it, ensure there is a backup copy of the Casefile being imported into before any importing of another Casefile takes place.
BUG Some imported case files appear to have no content [FIXED in v1.5.0]
ISSUE: Whilst using Casedo, the Document View and Index appear blank, even on scrolling. SOLUTION: Restart Casedo and reopen the Casefile.
