Application Data

From Casedo v1.5 onwards you have the option to delete and / or email your application user data to Casedo. Deleting your user data is similar in function to fulling clearing your cache in your web browser. You can also use this feature to access your license key and other details.

Resetting Application Data

When troubleshooting errors in Casedo, you now no longer need to manually find and delete individual application files.

1. find the ‘Help’ menu in the toolbar section

2. From the ‘Help’ menu find the ‘Application Data’ option

3. After having selected ‘Application Data’, you will now see details of your user data, such as which version of Casedo you are using, your license key number, your email address and so on. You will also see 2 options, ‘Clear Application Data’ and ‘Email Application Data to Casedo.

For Mac users:

For mac users, you will see a screen similar to the image below, simply select ‘Clear Application Data’;

You will then see a confirmatory pop up, as shown below;

Now simply choose the ‘Proceed to clear my application data and close casedo’ option.

For Windows users:

For windows users, you will see a screen similar to the image below, simply select ‘Clear Application Data’;

You will then see a confirmatory pop up, as shown below;

Now simply choose the ‘Proceed to clear my application data and close casedo’ option.

N.B. It is important to know that if you clear your application data, ALL of your casefiles and your previously saved documents WILL NOT get erased. However, your Recent File list will be cleared, so that until it populates again you will have to find your Casefiles manually.

Emailing User Data to Casedo

In the event that you are experiencing a problem with Casedo. For us to be able to help you better with your issue, you can email your user data to us directly from within Casedo. However rest be assured we know how important your privacy is, so this feature will NOT transfer sensitive documents to us. Through this feature, we will ONLY be able to help you with any technical issues you are experiencing, without accessing any of your documents and casefiles.

1. Find the ‘Help’ Menu in the toolbar.

2. Find and click on the ‘Application Data’

3. After having selected ‘Application Data’, you will now see details of your user data, such as which version of Casedo you are using, your license key number, your email address and so on. You will also see 2 options, ‘Clear Application Data’ and ‘Email Application Data to Casedo.

For Mac users:

For mac users, you will see a screen similar to the image below, simply select ‘Email Application Data to Casedo’;

This will automatically direct you to your email. All of the relevant data will be copied into the email, so all you have to do now is press ‘Send’, and you’re good to go!

For Windows users:

For windows users, you will see a screen similar to the image below, simply select ‘Email Application Data to Casedo’;

Again this will automatically direct you to your email. All of the relevant data will be copied into the email, so all you have to do now is press ‘Send’, and you’re good to go!
